Many physician leaders have been trained by CBT Canada over the past twenty years. Alumni include CFPC presidents (both national & provincial), department chairs, residency training program directors—and even a few doctors who are comfortable using drills & saws. CBT Canada and Queen’s University Department of Medicine are pleased to present a Ten-Minute CBT workshop at the Delta Kingston Waterfront on Friday, December 6, 2019.

The workshop covers the Ten-Minute CBT approach, fundamental tools of persuasion, and important CBT pearls regarding patient adherence to therapy, chronic disease management (e.g., hypertension, diabetes), illness anxiety disorder (“hypochondriasis”), substance abuse, smoking cessation, chronic worry (“GAD”), major depression, vaccine refusal, OCPD (perfectionism) and other disorders common in medical practice.

Head instructor Greg Dubord, MD is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, and the prime developer of medical CBT. He has presented over 500 workshops, including over 50 for the College of Family Physicians of Canada, and is a University of Toronto CME Teacher of the Year. Assistant faculty includes Johanna Murphy, MD, FRCPC, former Director of the General Internal Medicine Fellowship Program at Queen’s University.
